Kliph Nesteroff Presents "a portal into a previously unseen world" - The Guardian
"Invaluable" - The Onion AV Club
"Important" - John Hodgman, The Daily Show
Letterman's morning show was far better than the nighttime version. I still look back at it with fondness; he was funny and inviting without being cynical.
Thanks for posting this. I remember Letterman's morning show and I also remember some of the commercials!
David Letterman's very first talk show following his arrival in NewYork from his native Indiana was a very short-lived one. Featuring a daily news update with the late Edwin Newman, this Monday-through-Friday chatfest featured optimistic guests, funny openingmonologues and rousing opening and closing theme compositions. It wasn't too long since Letterman switch talk-show dayparts from daytime to late night, when NBC helped launched Late Night withDavid Letterman in the mid-1980s.Letterman was succeeded by ConanO'Brien, who fills in current hostJay Leno's shoes next June, andJimmy Fallon.
