I've always been fascinated by the non-Stooge films cranked out at the Columbia Short Subjects division. Scriptwriter Elwood Ullman and Edwards Bernds collaborated frequently not just on comedy shorts, but in B-level sci-fi films in the 1950s. Bernds was an unsung master of comic action and exterior location shooting. All of their collaborations are interesting.

The lady slipping poison to the gentleman, the gentleman noticing and trying to play switcheroo, turns up in a few Stooges shorts as well. Didn't a lady try to slip Shemp a mickey? Had him running in circles on the floor...
Nice re-use of Stooges shtick, with the harder-edged Jean Willes replacing Christine McIntyre.
