Kliph Nesteroff Presents "a portal into a previously unseen world" - The Guardian
"Invaluable" - The Onion AV Club
"Important" - John Hodgman, The Daily Show
Kliph: Did you know that "Supermarket Sweep" was produced by David Susskind's company, though you won't find Susskind's name on it?
According to Stephen Battaglio's recently published biography of Susskind, which I read and recommend, Susskind, well known as a high-powered salesman when it came to pitching his shows to the networks, didn't attend the network pitch meeting for "Sweep" and left a taping of the show early because he couldn't stand watching it. But his company needed the money.
I myself watched the show maybe once as a kid. That was pretty much enough.
