What I find fascinating here is that the "plot" of the "spring play" as depicted in this episode would never fly today at a small-town church benefit. A church benefit show, with a spring play that depicts PAN dancing around playing his pipes and bringing the woodlands back to life? What church was it? The First Church of Greek Pagans? LOL. Today a small-town Christian congregation would be having none of this--which is a shame, because obviously it was all in fun.
I also admit, I had a flash-forward to "A Christmas Story" when Buddy Foster came down the stairs to show off his "lamb costume." "He looks like a white nightmare!"
