Wrong Willie Nelson! Who was that guy? Great show, anyway. Does everyone know that the piano player in the beginning with all the screen time is a short haired, beardless Leon Russell? Thanks for another awesome post, Kliph!!!
Donna Loren told me that Bobby Hatfield from the Righteous Brothers was her closest confidante on SHINDIG and that she did NOT get along with Bobby Sherman.
Sherman's whole career on SHINDIG was sort of swept aside a few years later when he finally achieved chart success as the Justin Bieber of his day in 1970. I was a huge fan at age 11 and the publicity barely if ever mentioned he had done anything before HERE COME THE BRIDES other than a MONKEES episode. And yet he was all over these SHINDIG episodes.
And no, i did NOT get that that was Leon Russell. Thanks!

Ah well, this was one of those "post now, watch later" shows.
