The Mike Douglas Show with guest Rex Reed and The Maryland Motion Picture Censor Board Lady (1974)
As a kid in Baltimore, I remember the Deep Throat controversy and how the movie kept getting pulled out of theaters. Mary Avera became even bigger as John Waters grew in popularity. Baltimore had so many silly "blue laws" back then, like stores couldn't be open on Sundays. By the 80s, everyone had had enough and the laws were quietly dismantled.

James Brolin is on the far right (to the left of Reed) but I can't remember the name of the woman next to Mike Douglas.
John Waters' arch nemesis! Read "Shock Value" for some wonderful anecdotes.
