A legendary mid-1960s sitcom flop. Had a great pedigree, though -- co-created by TV Guide reviewer/cat-book author Cleveland Amory and "Guys & Dolls"/"How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" librettist Abe Burrows, Jim's dad (Abe also created the radio comedy classic "Duffy's Tavern").

And yes, that hot teenage daughter is a young Brooke Adams.

Quite enjoyable. I only vaguely recall seeing this as a wee lad (and recognizing Mr. Ives as the snowman from the previous year's RUDOLPH!)

BTW, DUFFY'S TAVERN was created by Ed Gardner who played Archie da manager. Burrows did, however, write some scripts for the long-running series.

How Amory had the guts to criticize other shows in TV GUIDE for years afterward, though, I'll never know.
