One of the greatest comedy segments in television history. This was Letterman at the height of his craft. Sticking it to the pinheads at GE was sheer genius. I can watch this over and over and never get sick of it.
Just to be clear that this is an abbreviated version of the segment. What's left out is the encounter between the GE security man and Dave's director Hal Gurnee. Dave was reminiscing about the whole affair on his last NBC show in 1993. The whole segment can be seen on YouTube.
