The Godfrey Cambridge Show: Live at the Hotel Aladdin (1968)
Wow, it's been a long time since I heard his comedy act. When I think of Godfrey Cambridge, I do label him as an actor first while neglecting the fact he was a brilliant stand-up comic. He left us much too early.
Yes I also loved Godfrey MacArthur Cambridge. I especially enjoyed his performance as the wisecracking, fluent in Yiddish, cabbie in Bye Bye Braverman.
This being Black History Month, the question was asked, "What is your favorite Black movie?" For me it is "WATERMELON MAN." Godfrey Cambridge was WAAAAAY ahead of his particular time and brilliance. If he were with us today, he would blow away most of these so-called comedians because what he offered was truth in a very cynical, dig deep conscience, funny way. I miss him.

Now what I am thinking of is that
Godfrey Cambridge was the baddest
black comedian EVER!
