Various Allan Sherman

It is hard to put into perspective just how huge (no pun intended) of a star Allan Sherman was in the mid-nineteen sixties. After the success of his debut LP, My Son the Folk Singer, all manner of My Son the such and such knock-offs appeared in film, book and LP titles. Along with several songs from his albums, there is also an ad for a Camp Granada board game included in this series of clips.

  1. Awesome. Loved Allan Sherman then and now. I've got 4 of Allan Sherman's LPs I'll have to share on my blog one of these days.

  2. Too bad some boomers only remember Allan Sherman for "Pop Hates the Beatles." The man was consistently funny and original, and it's sad he died at the age of 48.
