I see the screenplay was by Nat Perrin. He did some work for the Marx Brothers in their later career. I never found his work particularly amusing. I have a book of W.C. Fields' letters, and one of them is to Nat, politely turning down a script. Fields tactfully said he didn't see anything funny in it. But Perrin had a long prosperous Hollywood career,
