If you'd told me that any lengthy program showcasing Jerry Lee Lewis would be virtually unwatchable, I wouldn't have believed you. But this is pretty awful stuff -- the worst kind of Hollywood-meets-Nashville pap, down to the apparently obligatory I-am-not-a-hippie patriotic odes and nods to Woody Guthrie Even a couple of tunes where Jerry Lee warbles meaningfully sans piano. A trainwreck of a period piece, and useful on that score, but no fun at all to watch...
