The Danny Kaye Show with guests Angela Landsbury, John Gary and Harvey Korman (1964)
I never trusted Danny Kaye when I was a kid. He seemed way too nice; it seemed phony. Much later I learned he had a nasty temper, easily flying off the handle for no reason at all.
I was never a big fan of musicals, except for marx bros., fred and ginger, and danny kaye and virginia mayo.
The old generation of movie stars learned their craft on the stage, and that meant you had to, at least, sing a little, dance a little, and tell a joke or two. Danny nails all three.
I watch White Christmas every year on TV if I can.

ReplyDeleteI so miss Danny Kaye.
ReplyDeleteDid you notice in the first clip that one of the dancers is Elaine Joyce?
