Miss World (attacked) with host Bob Hope (1970)
At the 1970 Miss World pageant in London, feminists blew whistles and ambushed the stage with harmless (but very intimidating) flour bombs. Bob Hope was certain that these protestors were "on some kind of dope, ladies and gentleman." No, nobody in the world would ever accuse beauty pageants of being progressive - in 1974 Miss World resigned in shame after it was "exposed" that she was a single mother!
Very over-rated comedian who wasn't funny. The fact that all his jokes were on prompt cards confirms he was a poor act who the english hated and the americans loved (for some reason). bet he made his money, though.
Ranch, you are so wrong about Bob Hope. Why not read a book about him or watch the Biography TV documentary? Millions of Americans loved Bob Hope. He was a huge success for decades on radio, TV, movies and stage. He also gave millions to charity.
Ranch stated in his comment that Americans loved Hope, he said the English hated him. Other than that, he just gave his honest opinion of Hope. Not like anyone is going to read this comment anyway, but oh well...
The late Les "Bob" Hope also was the spokesman for Chevron's auto
ReplyDeletefuel and lubricant line known today
