Walter Cronkite's normal 15 minute CBS News broadcast was extended to a full half hour to include this exclusive interview with President Kennedy in September of 1963. From then on, the news broadcast conformed to a thirty minute format.

Arguably, the first "pay TV" or "pay-per-view" event that ever occurred - certainly the first of major significance.  Community arenas and public theaters brodcasted the event on closed-circuit and fans could watch for the price of a ticket.
