Mr. Flatt somehow got Pete Barbutti to do a guest appearance and performance and he did the 'how to put on an accordion' bit. I remember it so well along with his trumpet numbers and schticks. Gene Morse found out I could play the piano fairly well and put me in the orchestra. I found myself at the band/orchestra picnic without a soul I knew. I was lost. You took me under your wing. I don't know if Gene asked you to or you just did it. You took me with you and several of your friends on a boat ride. When we got out far enough you sank the boat! Luckily I was a good swimmer and I loved every second! Thank you so much. Have you ever heard from Mickey? I would love to know what has happened with her. I know she came to see you in Las Vegas. I'm sorry I ruined your Louis Armstrong record.jessienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2398796842887862508.post-1572027092162292552014-10-08T19:35:23.446-07:002014-10-08T19:35:23.446-07:00I was The singer in The New Vaudeville band that h...I was The singer in The New Vaudeville band that had the hit recording of Winchester Cathedral. We would often see Mr. Barbutti in Vegas or Tahoe and absolutely piss ourselves laughing. I believe he honored us with his presence a few times and found us funny also. A great mind. This guy is among the best comics ever.

He also appears to be among the best ever interviews. Forget Jack Carter. If you can get him to go along with the idea, there must be at least 2-3 books worth of material in Pete.

Thanks so much for posting these interviews.Sid Montrosenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2398796842887862508.post-54480642123588790232011-09-26T03:04:01.753-07:002011-09-26T03:04:01.753-07:00Pete used to do the Cincinnati talk shows a lot, t...Pete used to do the Cincinnati talk shows a lot, too. Always enjoyed him.

A minor correction to his memories on Rudy Vallee--Vallee never recorded WINCHESTER CATHEDRAL during his original success because that song wasn't written until the sixties as a parody of Vallee's type of music. Rudy DID, however, record it then along with a number of his older songs, and released a new album.Bookstevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09797445163866512849noreply@blogger.com
