It was good, clean, wacky fan. (Plus I had a huge crush on the very pretty and charming Nancy Fox, who played one of nurses who always conspired with Cleavon Little.)

Not to be show-off-ish, but I did an upgrade of the Wikipedia entry of T.R. recently. Please take a look see. The show had a fairly interesting history and I thing it needs to be brought back into circulation.Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14583658643482435194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2398796842887862508.post-10356465902189419252012-04-05T19:34:09.693-07:002012-04-05T19:34:09.693-07:00My understanding at the time was that the James Wh...My understanding at the time was that the James Whitmore version of TEMPERATURE'S RISING was based on the britcom Doctor In The House.
Never saw the Lynde revamp, though.

- KDAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2398796842887862508.post-36889072751107468072011-09-13T22:06:35.979-07:002011-09-13T22:06:35.979-07:00I agree totally with Bobby Wall. Your "thing" would be to interview show biz people just as you do here. Cleavon and his three nurse co-conspirators were great. By the time Paul was added, Whitmore's "voice of reason" character (similar to Col Potter on MASH) was gone completely and as your piece says, Paul was Paul. Unfortunately, that left two comics and no straight man. Paul being Paul left little room for Cleavon to be Cleavon and his character often seemed emasculated from the earlier interpretation of the role.Bookstevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09797445163866512849noreply@blogger.com
