The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour with guests George Carlin, The Committee and The Doors (1968)

The deranged version of Satisfaction that the boys play at the start of the show is to die for. The early Carlin piece is also pretty interesting and at around the half hour mark we get to see George Carlin sing!

Who does the saxophone solo at the end of The Doors' "Touch Me"? Curtis Amy did it on the album session- is that him here?

Carlin's early work when he was teamed with Jack Burns is quite evident in the "Indian Sergeant" bit. Sounds just like Burns. I wonder if Burns adopted Carlin's accent, or if Carlin simply liked Burns'. Who knows...

Was that Clarence Clemons on the sax? He would have been about Morrison's age in 1968.
